I had a recall a Nine Inch Nails - "Only" videoclip. I had to try that. All done in Blender. 2.63, internal render. Also made and image rendered with cycles : tomwalks.deviantart.com Basicaly, that's done with dupliverts : - I used a plane, subdivided a lot, and Uv unwarped. - Then modelled a pin and parented it to the plane. In the Object / duplication panel of the plane, I choosed "Verts". - Now there are as much pin as vertices of the plane, and each pin is parented to a vertice. - Now if you add a displace modifier to the plane, and choose a new texture, or a black and white image, choose UV as the mapping, the displace will draw the image in 3D, so the pins will follow this deformation. -If you use a video instead of an image, works too. Adams is an artist, poet, social activist, former gallerist (Vision Gallery, Brooklyn), and master mason. Using house paint abandoned at construction sites, Adams spins paint from punctured cans hung from specially constructed tripods above found tarps. Like the path of a plumb-bob set in motion or a Foucault pendulum, the paint automatically forms progressively layered ellipses on the horizontal tarps. In 1988 Adams showed his sets for Bethany Jacobson's film War Zones at PS 1 in Queens, NYC His first major show was at the ABC No-Rio Gallery in the East Village in NYC in 1998 in conjunction with a reading by poet Allen Ginsburg. Developer Tequila Works and Microsoft Game Studios have put out another delightfully dark and incredibly bleak video for Deadlight today, showing more of the 2.5D side-scrolling post-apocalyptic zombie survival horror that looks like it could be a major sleeper hit on the Xbox Live Arcade. Consisting of some zombie shooting, platform leaping and a relentlessly dark yarn, Deadlight casts you as lone survivor, Randall Wayne making his way through the rubble and bombed-out shells of buildings.
