Of the 52 people on board, 28 were killed in the crash, including both drivers, all four teachers, and 22 of the 46 children. The other 24 pupils, all aged between 10 and 12, were injured, including three who were hospitalised with severe brain and chest injuries. Un bus belge s'est encastré dans la paroi d'un tunnel en Suisse. Le car transportait des enfants de Lommel et Heverlee. Les blessés sont dans un état grave. Les enfants revenaient de vacances de neige dans le Val d'Anniviers et s'apprêtaient à rentrer en Belgique. Les deux chauffeurs ont également péri dans l'accident. Een touringcar met Belgische en Nederlandse schoolkinderen is vanochtend verongelukt nabij het Zwitserse Sierre. De bus is gecrasht in een tunnel. De touringcar zou de tunnelwand aan de linkerkant geraakt hebben waardoor de chauffeur de macht over het stuur verloor en aan de andere verkeershelft tot stilstand kwam De slachtoffers waren op de terugweg van een skivakantie in de vallei Val d'Anniviers. Voor zover nu bekend zijn er 28 mensen om het leven gekomen, onder wie 22 kinderen. In de bus zaten tien Nederlandse kinderen. Omdat het identificeren vrij moeizaam gaat is het nog niet bekend of er ook Nederlandse kinderen onder de slachtoffers te betreuren zijn. De Belgische regering heeft een dag van nationale rouw aangekondigd. De Belgische crisispsycholoog Erik De Soir stond vandaag de ouders bij en praat hier vanavond over in ons programma.
