The 4Star TTR Poney Session celebrated it's 10th year anniversary with the seasonal theme being, hunting and fishing. Amazing level of riding was shown by all, with riders coming from all across Europe. But it was Jonas Steen from Norway who took the victory with an incredible run of a Double Cork 12 and Cab 10. The 2011/2012 TTR World Tour came to a close at the 6Star Burton US Open with men's and women's halfpipe finals. After a gripping season full of countless highlights, Iouri Podladtchikov (SUI) and Kelly Clark (USA) clinched the TTR Halfpipe World Tour Champion titles. Kelly Clark took a podium spot once again to receive the TTR World Tour Champion trophy for her clear domination in the halfpipe over the course of the season. Although Kelly didn't manage to come in first in her home state after being undefeated in 16 consecutive contests, she undeniably sets the standard for women's halfpipe snowboarding. It was Elena Hight (USA), finishing the season in World No. 4 in the TTR Halfpipe Rankings, who broke Kelly's string of wins with less than a one point difference today. After an exciting day of slopestyle finals at the 6Star Burton US Open, Sebastien Toutant (CAN) and Jamie Anderson (USA) have been officially crowned the 2012 TTR Slopestyle World Tour Champions. The 2011/2012 season was packed full of amazing slopestyle competitions around the globe and after today's finals at Stratton Mountain in Vermont, USA, Sebastien and Jamie were awarded with the TTR Slopestyle Tour Champion trophies. Sebastien clinched the title with his win in today's slopestyle competition and Jamie set her title in stone with her first place finish, as well. The last contest of the season, the 6Star Burton US Open Halfpipe event, came to a dramatic conclusion, with 4 new TTR World Tour champions crowned. A huge crowed turned up to see who would win the TTR Halfpipe Tour trophies as well as the prestigious TTR Overall World Tour titles. After dominating all season Kelly Clark had the fully support of her fans behind her as she dropped in and scored a 83.56 straight out of the gate. Elana Hight surprised everyone knocking Kelly Clark into second place with a great second run Kelly tried to answer in her third run, but had to be happy with second place which was still enough to secure the TTR Halfpipe World Tour title. LAAX, Switzerland, March 3rd 2012 - World Champions Kelly Clark (USA) and Iouri Podladchikov win the Burton European Open, on yet another very warm and sunny day in LAAX and each get to take home the $15.000 first prize. Second in the women's competition was American Gretchen Bleiler, followed by Yuki Furihata from Japan. In an exciting men's final, Swiss Iouri Podladtchikov took the win with his second run with a 88.90 score, followed by Danny Davis (USA) and Japanese Ryo Aono. On yet another sunny day in Laax, it was ladies first this morning, with Kelly Clark dominating the first run. With Gretchen Bleiler on her heels, Kelly improved her result in the second run, throwing a beautiful Frontside 900 Frontside grab to Backside 540, going into a massive Frontside 1080 and a Cab 720 Mute to finish it of. LAAX/SUI (March 1, 2012) -- Another bluebird day, spring temperatures and an epic Slopestyle course laid the groundwork for one of the Burton European Open's most memorable slopestyle competitions earlier today. Jamie Anderson (USA) successfully defended her title and won the BEO Slopestyle for the second year in a row, while Aleksander Ostreng (NOR) won his first international title today. Both winners took home $15000 and a world-class title to add to their snowboarding resumes. Jamie's winning run included a backside tailslide on the rail, a frontside 360 to backside 180 on the step-up/step-down combo, a Cab 720 nose grab and switch backside 540 Indy grab on the kickers, finishing off with a backside lipslide to frontside 360 melon. The spaceshuttle MMXII has landed up at the 2012 TTR Burton European Open presented by MINI in Laax! After a great kick-off with the Junior Slopestyle on Saturday, the riding level went even higher in the Junior Halfpipe competition on Sunday. Young riders from 14 countries - the youngest one aged 5 years - showed an amazing riding level. 13 year old Burton rider Miyabi Onitsuka (JPN) and 14 year old Stian Kleivdal (NOR) claimed their first big international titles in the Slopestyle, while 14 year old Zoe Kalapos and 14 year old Burton rider Kyle Mack are the happy winners in the Halfpipe. Oslo, Norway played host for the first ever TTR World Snowboarding Championships. After ten years setting up the worlds biggest snowboarding tour, TTR and WSF, organised the World Snowboarding Championships as the pinnacle event of snowboarding, scheduled to be held every 4 years and featuring over two hundred of the worlds best riders. All eyes were on Oslo as the worlds media turned up to witness this milestone in the history of competitive freestyle snowboarding. Peetu Piiroinen (FIN) wins the 6Star Billabong Air&Style with steady Backside 1260 mute grabs all evening long. Seppe Smits (BEL) takes the TTR Big Air Tour Trophy 2012 home, after coming in second here at the Bergisel Stadium in Innsbruck, closely followed by Niklas Mattsson (SWE). 'Winning the Big Air Tour Trophy was unexpected, I was very happily surprised.'Seppe Smits Peetu, who won with a clean and stylish Backside 1260 mute grab responded: 'It was a great night, and it felt really good being here. This was definitely one of the hardest competitions for me, with everyone stomping it.'
