BNSF Boeing Train on the MRL near Garrison on 11 May 2012. We were on our way to Helena from Missoula and were completely lucky to be able to stop on the side of the highway, jump out of the car and take these shots. BNSF 521 Westbound on the MRL Mainline East of Garrison, was slowed by bridge maintenance, and what do you know - I have unexpected, albeit shaky film, of a 4 car Boeing Fuselage special BNSF Train! Pretty lucky for my 11th day in USA and 1st in Montana.

(Outside track) I finally found the almost correct Pullmans for my Lionel Dreyfuss 221. The 221 was designed to be sold with the 2640 prewar Pullmans 1938-42, however WWII delayed it's release to 1946-47, when it could be purchased as a set with re-released 2640 cars, which were re-designated 2430 cars. My 221 is pulling a beautiful set of prewar 2640 Pullmans. On the inside track is my 1689E Commodore Vanderbilt Freight set, 1936-37. Up on the mesas is my Lionel 1700 junior set 1935-37. Those pesky rodents are still pumping the handcar. I suppose it's time to put out some mouse traps. Yep, I finally fixed the crossing guard shack. Now the little guy can step out for some fresh air. An honest boxer refuses to throw a fight for a gambler. They get into a fight and the boxer knocks the gambler out. Thinking he's killed him and believing that the police are after him, the horrified boxer runs off and takes to the road, promising never to box again. However, one day he comes upon a small but scrappy young kid who has the potential to be a champion. The former boxer takes the kid under his wing and trains him, but the kid's ensuing success starts to go to his head. Pretty soon he finds himself mixed up with gamblers, too.

Two EMD SD60s and a smoking SD40-2 pull the day's Canadian Pacific "272" east on the Chicago subdivision. The train slows as it nears Davis Junction where it a few cars to set out. I've another video catch of the train as it pulled out of Davis Junction that I'll post later.

This version was modified using the YouTube editing tools. The back lighting was increased and the color temperature was warmed up a bit. I would be interested in any comments comparing this to the original. A trip around the layout with a beautiful Union Pacific 4-8-4 (FEF) Northern locomotive at the head of a long passenger train to show the progress on the main yard and the upper branch line as well as to give an overall feel of what the layout potential will be when scenic-ed. The FEF is the Genesis model and the cars are the last run Rivarossi set A and B with an additional 3 cars.

I had a hard time getting this little bit out of him. He would shy away LOL. I had to record 15minutes worth and edit out all the empty space and others talking for this little bit of him. He is saying "Ho Ho", "Cars", "I did that" and "Choo-Choo". He is crazy about trains.. Something to save forever of Nephew.

"Freight Shred" was shot at the Port of Richmond on the morning of April 30th, 2012. I love trains and generally will pull out of traffic grab a tripod and my pocket camera and start shooting. This time I got 5 shots off, 2 waist level (1/2 x in camera slow motion) and 3 very low angle shots in real time that caught the belly of the empty cars thanks to the versatility of the Joby Gorillapod. I wanted to cover all 5 shots in 1 minute. To meet my goaI, I needed to overlap shots. I cut it so the first shot is laid down as a background shot with the 2nd shot shredded and overlaid (by compositing, cropping, and track motion). Then continuing with the 2nd shot as the background and the 3rd shot is shredded on top of it, and so on until the last shot which has itself as the background and the shred. În data de 25 mai 2012 un accident sa produs în aproprierea căii ferate avariind-o destul de serios. Un camion sa răsturnat într-o curbă și a căzut pe gabaritul căii ferate. După aproximativ 6 ore, circulația feroviară a fost deblocată iar trenurile au avut întârzieri mari! Concluzia - Camionagiilor, sustineți RO-LA! During the 25th of may, there was a railway accident that caused delays in the train schedules. A truck fell on the railway and the railway was damaged. After six hours the railway has been cleared. Conclusion - Truckers, supoort RO-LA!
