As requested, this is a tutorial video of the stretches I used to get my splits, with a description below of all the steps involved here. It's useful when doing these to have some sort of straight line reference to make sure your splits are in the right line - I use a strip of old carpet which I also used to use as a practise beam when I was at home. Forward Splits: Go into a forward lunge without moving your feet too far apart. In all these positions it's important to bounce a little bit within the pose as it increases the stretch. After 5 seconds or so, stretch both legs, trying to keep both feet flat on the floor. Bend your torso so that your head is on your knees, and hold for 5 seconds. This will help stretch hamstrings which are important for splits. Go back into a lunge, but this time move the back leg backwards as far as you can whilst still lunging, and take your hands off the ground. It may be a little hard to balance, but it's really helpful removing the hands as it means...

Okay, so my 2012 resolution is to exercise 5-7 days a week...and every Saturday I'll give the results on Dailybooth (Dailybooth link below this) I will also post an update vlog the last Friday of every month (which is what you are watching). I usually run on the tread mill, weight lift and ALWAYS do some yoga and stretch at the end. I am also trying to eat better, like after school or in the afternoon when I don't have school, instead of chips or candy, I'll have a fruit or vegetables. I cut back on the amount of sugar consumed. I don't drink pop everyday, and now only have it like once or twice a week. All of these changes have made me feel so much better, which was my goal. I would like to introduce you to Lighthouse Bay in Barbuda. This western bay on the island of Barbuda is very likely the most beautiful beach in the Caribbean. This beautiful stretch of beach is naturally exclusive. It runs for miles in both directions, where it is actually true that the only footprints you see are the ones you've made. Twenty-six miles of the Atlantic separates Barbuda from Antigua and the mile-and a-half-wide Codrington Lagoon separates Lighthouse Bay from the rest of Barbuda. With this incredibly rare combination of beauty and exclusivity and with the ease of reaching it by jet and helicopter via the International Airport in Antigua, I feel comfortable telling you that Barbuda will shortly evolve to be the most sought after address in the Caribbean.
