France's new president says nearly all French troops will leave Afghanistan by the end of 2012. Francois Hollande made a surprise visit to Afghanistan this week. Hollande announced his decision at last weekend's NATO summit in Chicago. France's drawdown would come two years before NATO's plan to withdraw all combat troops from the region.

SOS DesignFestival Sarajevo is the first design festival in Sarajevo.initiated and organized by product and graphic design students from the Academy of Fine Arts in Sarajevo. We want SOS Design Festival to be a perfect mixture of lectures, workshops, exhibitions, student pecha kucha nights - all in all a unique meeting point for all students, as well as design professionals. Our idea is to connect all the students in our region and to promote their work and abilities. Also, we want to have design professionals as our speakers and workshop leaders. Our SOS signal was sent to professionals like Mirko Ilic, Konstantin Grcic, NUMEN, Christopher Niemann, Dejana Kabiljo etc.; also to the design festivals in the region -- Mikser, Magdalena etc.; and the most important - to all the design students from Europe. One of the important parts of the Festival is our SOS award for best graphic design and for best product design.

I had a moment of clarity the other day, and it dawned on my how the universe came to exist in our region of space. I thought all the way back to before the Big Bang.
