He stopped by an 8-by-15-foot temporary shelter of plastic sheeting belonging to a newly arrived refugee. The area is dangerously hot, with little shade. Claudia is the only one who has been spared from the knife and that´sa real eyesore for the rest of them. She calls herself a "beauty refugee" and lives in Sweden, far away from the obsessions of her Brazilian family. On May 25, the Refugee Action Collective held a protest outside the Department of Immigration to demand that they free mother or two, Ranjini, a Tamil refugee who faces indefinite detention due to ASIO's negative security checks. At least 56 refugees are facing indefinite detention after being declared a 'security threat' by ASIO. This includes two families with young children. They have no right to review or appeal the decision, nor do they have the right to know the grounds on which they have been rejected. Three Tamil refugees rejected by ASIO have attempted suicide in Broadmeadows detention centre. Alongside this mounting despair inside the camps, there is a growing chorus of outrage against this affront to natural justice. Join the Refugee Action Collective (Vic) in calling on the government to scrap ASIO checks. Refugees are threatened by persecution and danger, not a security threat. The government must act immediately to release the refugees into the community.

(They are big on intimidation) Besides about 150 refugees, 2 doctors and several humanitarian workers were beaten and arrested. Checkpoints kept press away from the location. Minister of Deportation, Gert Leers used 'divide and conquer' tactics to split up the group of about 400, mainly Iraqi, Irani and Somalian refugees. After he made some promises part of the group left the site. Red cross promised help but never showed. Dutch refugee organisation COA, (that put traumatized children in prison before deporting) cut off the waterline to the camp and police prevented fieldbeds and chairs to arrive. The Urban Eagles is a ministry within Missionary Athletes International (www.maisoccer.com). The Urban Eagles is specifically an inner-city ministry that desires to change communities in the city of Charlotte, NC. One of the neighborhoods, Birchcroft Apartments, have started a HS Boys Team made up completely of kids from refugee families. In April 2012, the HS team from Birchcroft took a week-long mission trip to Belle Glade FL. The team ran a soccer clinic for children of Belle Glade, served the community, and grew closer as a team. This video documents the trip to Florida.
