Current estimates are more than quadruple the amount of radioactive cesium-137 leaked than Chernobyl, Fukushima suggests around 760000 terabecquerels (TBq) have been discharged this figure is 1.6 times higher than previously stated. Chernobyl accident of 1986, 5200000 TBq of radioactive isotopes was released into the environment. Chernobyl put out a total of 85000 TBq of Cesium-137 over the course of the disaster. 400000 TBq of Iodine-131 leaked Fukushima. 360000 TBq of Cesium-137 released from Fukushima. Unknown TBq of Strontium-90 released from Fukushima. Uknown, Values for Uranium, Plutonium, Tritium, and other associated isotopes. The method used to access the radiological hazards from Fukushima may undervalue the total radiological damage and is just another effort to downplay the real magnitude of this continuing nuclear disaster.

I recognize that this video is a re-upload. That first version of this was age gated because of either a youtube bug that impacts shows (this is haunting everybody right now) or because of a group of pranksters. Age gating prevents the video from being seen by a lot of my fans and they've been requesting that I do something so they can see it too. Is it money whoring? No. Perhaps if you look through hate tinted lenses you'll see it that way but really I'm just trying to run the best channel possible and that includes doing something to help my fans that wanted to see last week's video and couldn't. I put "re-upload" in the title to make it clear that I wasn't trying to fool anybody. I'll have a new microwave video going up later today to satisfy all your radioactive needs. Tokyo Electric Power said its own analysis conducted over the past year put the amount of radiation released in the first three weeks of the accident at about one-sixth the radiation released during the 1986 Chernobyl disaster. "If this information had been available at the time, we could have used it in planning evacuations," TEPCO spokesman Junichi Matsumoto told a news conference. Because radiation sensors closest to the plant were knocked out by the March 11, 2011 quake and the tsunami, the utility based its estimate on other monitoring posts and data collected by Japanese government agencies. This is a test of my recently acquired Aero Ektar 306mm f/2.5 lens. These were used during WWII and into the so called "Cold War" for high altitude recon photos. These lenses have 7 elements with the two doublets containing thorium glass; a strong gamma emitter. Gamma photons are characterized as high energy light with very short wavelengths. If one could "see" gamma ray photons this lens would glow. This lens registers 1.5 mR/Hr with a CDV-700 Civil Defense Geiger counter. The amount of acceptable radioactive exposure is 500 mR/HR above natural background per year, so one would have to have this lens close by for 333 hours. Any additional radiation from dental x-rays, CT scans, and other medial procedures would add more to that amount.
