David Cruz is in the process of renegotiating his mortgage with PNC Bank, so he was surprised when at 4AM Friday members of the Hennepin County Sheriff's office busted down his house door and tried to evict the Occupy Minnesota protesters who were defending his home. Cruz and Occupy took their case to the media today outside of Minneapolis City Hall.

11:35 PM, the students and other protesters are now somewhere in the Mile-End district of Montreal, on a residential street. As the marchers moved through, people could be seen out on their balconies, banging pots and pans in support. But not all Montrealers are as supportive... Montreal usually has a noise curfew of 11:00 PM, but the march was allowed to continue without police intervention until it subsided on its own at around 2 AM. Critics of the student movement are decrying these late night activities, drawing attention to the fact that many Montrealers who need to wake up early for work are having their rights violated. Many motorists are also frustrated, getting stuck sometimes for hours during the daytime protests. Right now the situation is at an impasse. The government introduced the "special law 78" a few days ago to try and limit large random protesting, but it seems to have had the opposite effect, as more people are now getting involved to protest against this law....
