A huge branch began cracking loudly and persisted in doing so for hours before breaking off and falling. I was luckily there when it finally fell, with a simple Canon point and shoot camera. In YouTube speak, one might call this a "tree fail", ie the tree was "owned" by gravity. I stabilized this video using VirtualDub with the Deshaker plugin. See firmitas.org for instructions.

The footage was shot in Hong Kong (in December 2010 and January 2011) and was edited in Windows Movie Maker.
