Originally a novel by Yamazaki Toyoko, and later a 1974 movie, Karei naru Ichizoku depicts the conflicts within the Manpyo family, famous in Kansai's financial circles,a family owning one of the largest banks and other conglomerates in steel and production. amidst the tumultuous reorganization of the financial industry of the late 1960s. Unlike the book, the eldest son, Teppei, and not the father, Daisuke, is the central character of the drama. This drama is set in the late 1960s decade of Japan and depicts the rivalry between Manpyo Daisuke (Kitaoji Kinya), a powerful banker, and his eldest son, Manpyo Teppei (Kimura Takuya), the executive managing director of a steel firm. For reasons not yet entirely clear, Daisuke seems to dislike his own son and when Teppei finds out why, the Manpyo family is turned upside down. One of the greatest drama's coming out of Japan, the rest of the series soon to come, stay tuned!

[PLEASE READ] Gorgeous actress plays a stirring and voluptuous "lost-race" princess ("Morjana") from the Saharan-mountain hideaway of "Madara" in the movie DESERT LEGION (1953). Although the screenplay is based upon the novel THE DEMON CARAVAN (1927) by adventure-story pulp writer Georges Arthur Surdez, I see suspiciously closer parallels to HARILEK (1923) by Anglo-Indian writer "Ganpat." The film's hidden-African-valley realm of "Madara" is akin to HARILEK's Asian "Sakaeland"; Arlene Dahl's "Morjana" is like unto HARILEK's "Aryenis" (with her "red-gold hair"); and Alan Ladd's foreign legionnaire "Paul Lartal" is similar to HARILEK's romantic hero "Harry Lake." Add a French Foreign Legion context a la PC Wren, a dash of mysticism a la Talbot Mundy, and the brio of H. Rider Haggard, and you have one hell of an adventure film. Peripheral nerves are nerves that connect the central nervous system to the body's extremities. These peripheral nerves control your motor function as well as sensation. When people injure their arm or legs, they may also injure these peripheral nerves. A peripheral nerve that has been damaged can lead to paralysis or even amputation. Our novel device is a port that works much like a drip irrigation system. We use this port to deliver a polymer we call "Nerve Glue" to the severed nerve over the course of 2 weeks. This experimental treatment, researched by Dr. Wesley Thayer at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center, has shown the ability to join nerve membranes together to an extent never before realized in history. Our objective was to create a device that allowed for a sustained and even delivery of this experimental treatment.

Dune (1984) The Alternative Edition Redux - A fanedit by Spicediver A film that's been admired, hated and puzzled-over in fairly equal amounts, writer/director David Lynch's ambitious 1984 adaptation of Frank Herbert's science fiction novel gets an extensive reworking in Dune The Alternative Edition Redux. Fretboard tapping was a novel technique when Eddie Van Halen recorded his groundbreaking, legendary shred showcase piece "Eruption" for Van Halen's 1978 debut album. With its spectacular application of fretboard tapping, the song quickly established tapping as an essential element within a new modern vocabulary of flash licks and tricks.

With this third and penultimate "Colour Me This" video I wanted, yet again, to try something new, at the risk of failing miserably, namely a Monochromatic Colour Scheme. It's a great exercise to practice value and saturation. For obvious reasons I didn't want any super-saturated colours. And I even desaturated the background colour at the end. I also tried a modest attempt at texture. If you look at the lights and shadows you will notice that they change according to their location : the hair, the blade, the snake, the bark-legs, the crab legs, the jellyfish bum. Ha, that's one thing I never thought I'd say. Jellyfish bum. That's what I should have titled this video!
