It's spring time approaching summer and I found out just how territorial birds can be. I was flying my Hexa Sentinel drone and taking some pictures. While beginning a slow descent for landing, I a noticed a small bird start attack runs on my multi-copter. A very brief dog fight ensued (me dropping altitude faster than I intended in order to lose the bird), but I was able to land safely with my pockets intact (and the attacking bird's feathers unruffled). The DJI WKM flight controller is extremely stable, but I never factored in an angry bird assault which could cause a prop strike and possibly result in My expensive bird crashing. The smaller birds are often seen chasing larger birds away from their nesting area and their young. I guess this bird thought that my drone was another aerial predator and began defending his territory. What's more interesting is just how far these birds will venture out to defend their territory.
