My bigger GBB sling "Thana" finally molted. Plus, the A. versicolor couple did, too a week ago. All 3 of them have NO mites left on them - which is the best news regarding the T's lately! Awesome! How I got rid of the mites: Rehoused the spiders and gave them completely new, bone-dry substrate with only a waterdish in there. NO misting at all! Once they molted, I -instantly- (this is important, so the mites don't have a chance to get onto the freshly molted spider!) removed their molt and one day later, rehoused them AGAIN with completely new substrate (same as above) and a waterdish. All of them do great again now! At this point - if you guys need info on a certain species go to Jon3800's channel ( www.youtube.com ) and check out his "Mythbuster" series. Very helpful and nicely detailed overviews! Also, very sorry about the losses you sufferred lately, Jon! Hope, you'll manage to get some nice new specimens soon...

Here is my Salmon Pink Birdeater moulting, I apologise in advance for the video quality, it was recorded on my Samsung Galaxy S. This is the Tarantula's 4th moult while in my ownership, im not sure what moult the Tarantula is on, because i have not had the sling since Hatch, It was roughly 1.5cm-2cm when i got it, Im guessing its a female due to a large abdomen But im hopefully going to sex it after this moult. Please if you have any suggestions about future recording's of moults, and way's of recording and collecting the moults, and writing down notes please comment in the section below, ALSO! Dont forget to subscribe for future Tarantula Video's featuring more of my Birdeater, and also my OBT sling. Thanks guys :) Tags: Tarantula Bird Pink salmon birdeater bird eater Lasiodora Parahybana Lasiodora Parahybana Spider Shop www.thespidershop.co.uk Tarantula's

Aranha Diaea dorsata
Diaea dorsata From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Diaea dorsata is one of the smaller crab spiders. Females can grow up to 6 mm, males up to 4 mm. Prosoma and legs are green, the opisthosoma is yellowish with a brown mark. Like Misumena vatia, this spider can change its color to fit its surrounding; however, this takes several days. D. dorsata prefers forest edges. It can be found on oak leaves. The subadults overwinter under the bark of dead trees. Adults appear in May. The males have an extended non-damaging combat ritual: They stand opposed, stretch their front legs and dance around each other. This can go on for hours. This is highly unusual for crab spiders, but for example often found in jumping spiders. An agranular green pigment is incorporated into the mesocuticle of this species and thus lost between moults.[1]

Little wandering spider shedding his skin. My voice goes up at the end of every sentence in the video (I know it's annoying). My girlfriend makes a remark about squid. The tegu smashes about. The spider wiggles.
Fishing spider feeding time
Decided after giving it a cricket, I should video how good looking it's got since the last moult :)

Molted to an adult from 1-6" in 10 months, and stunning colours! For those who are stunned by this spider here is an article from Wikipedia: "P. metallica is a species of tarantula. It reflects brilliant metallic blue color. This whole genus of arboreal tarantulas exhibits an intricate fractal-like pattern on the abdomen. The spider's natural habitat is primarily Southeastern India and Sri Lanka. P. metallica was first discovered in a town in central southern India called Gooty. Hence, its common name is Gooty Sapphire Ornamental Tree Spider, or simply Gooty Sapphire." Dicey moulting
Tags: spider huntsman shedding moulting australia pet
On the 11th of December 2011 my pet Jungle Huntsman, Dicey, moulted. I would say she, but I'm no longer sure! Sorry about the irritating camera shake at around 1:20, tripod failure. A few of my friends have said they didn't know spiders did this, so here's the reason for those who don't know. Spider skin doesn't stretch. When a spider is ready to grow, they have to shed the old skin (or moult). You can see in the video the skin from her abdomen peels off like sunburned skin, but the skin from her legs, carapace and other bits and pieces is hard and she has to pull herself out of it.
