The Lt. Raymond Enners Award is an award given annually to the NCAA's most outstanding player in men's college lacrosse. The award is presented by the USILA (US Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association) and is named after Raymond Enners, who attended the United States Military Academy, class of 1967, and served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Baum scored a Patriot League record 97 points during the 2012 season.

Two clauses of the originally proposed resolution, stating that city agencies would not cooperate with federal ones acting under authority of the NDAA provisions, and that the city expected federal agencies to adhere to constitutional guidelines, were not voted on pending research by the city attorney. On 22 May Supporters for Chris Mahlangu sang the struggle song, Umshini Wami (Bring me my machine gun) outside the Ventersdorp Court during the judgement of the Eugene Terre'Blanche (ex-leader of the AWB) hearing. Umshini wami, also known as Awuleth' Umshini Wami (English, Bring me my machine gun), is a popular Zulu language "struggle song" used formerly by members of Umkhonto we Sizwe, the military wing of the African National Congress during the struggle against Apartheid in South Africa. News night yesterday established that three explosives were discovered at Uhuru park grounds as the country's disciplined forces were conducting rehearsals. The discovery, that heightened security concerns on a day scores of Kenyan military officers were injured in Mandera. From treadmill challenges to treasure hunts, May has been the fundraising month for SSAFA Forces Help - the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association - in Cyprus. The funds raised by the people from across the Sovereign base Areas will be used to help the military community on island. Supporting individual and family welfare needs, community projects across British Forces Cyprus will benefit such as crèches, youth clubs and improvements to single service accommodation. It also means that SSAFA can continue to provide befriending and counselling services from community volunteers SSAFA are looking at repeating their fundraising week every six months so expect to see something similar in October The initial fundraising target was 5000 euros but with the figures that are still coming in it looks like they will be getting much more.

30 years ago today, war was raging in the Falkland Islands. As in most conflicts, there were civilian as well as military casualties. Tim Miller was one of them. A farmer living on West Falkland, he lost an eye when the RAF mistook his farm for an enemy position, and bombed him. British Forces News has been speaking to Tim about the conflict.

A military guard of honour started the latest leg of the Olympic Torch's run today (Thursday) through Gloucester. Eighteen military personnel from Imjin Barracks, assigned to Headquarters, Allied Rapid Reaction Corps (HQ ARRC), held the national flags of the sixteen nations of the ARRC, as well as both ARRC and NATO colours. The multinational formation of troops stood to both sides of the torch runner's route as he began his trek through Gloucester's streets from the Gloucester Quays this morning. The ARRC also provided more than 80 additional military personnel to assist as route liners for the torch's run through the city.
