Highlights from Day 6 of the London 2012 Olympic Torch Relay. The Flame visits Gloucester Cathedral and Severn Valley Railway. Ex-London Midland 15214 departs from platform 1 with a Leeds service (NOT Birmingham, it is there from LM days) and another 150/2 arrives into platform 3A with a service from Leeds via Bolton-Upon-Dearne, it later ran the same service back to Leeds.

On Saturday 13th April 1996 the Don River Railway ran a special double-header steam train from Hobart to Launceston. The excursion was part of "Rails Round Tasmania" celebration of 125 years of railways in the state. Seen here is the train passing through Granton along the banks of the River Derwent, before crossing the Midland Highway on the Bridgewater Causeway and lift bridge. Originally recorded on Sony Video-8 low-band analog handy-cam.

London Kings Cross to Darlington on the 14::30 Kings X to Edinburgh on Saturday 17th December 2011, in 1st class. East Coast 225 (Class 91 & Mk 4 coaches). Look out for: 2 Grand Central 180s and an East Coast HST in the platforms at Kings X; EWS 67021 and West Coast Railways 37676 "Loch Rannoch" next to Kings X PSB (just before Gasworks Tunnel); lots of freight locos at Peterborough; and an East Midlands Trains Class 222 Meridian, 222022, at York.

London North Eastern Railway B12 Class 4-6-0 Steam Locomotive 8572 seen departing in the rain from Sheringham Station on the North Norfolk Railway. The second part of this video shows 8572 arriving at Holt Station in glorious sunshine before running round the stock and preparing to return to Sheringham. The B12 is the flagship locomotive of the Midland & Great Northern Society. It was built in 1928 to a Great Eastern design, for express passenger services in East Anglia. It was preserved by the M&GN society in 1963 and has been recently returned to service after an extensive overhaul. The engine is currently in LNER apple green livery.

Filmed in 2000, our journey starts out from St Pancras just before rebuilding for Eurostars.This is the St Pancras that we remember, as built by the Midland Railway in the 19th century. Our Driver's eye view takes us up the quadruple main line through Hertfordshire into Bedfordshire where we lose the overhead wires. We run non-stop to Leicester, then to Derby, Chesterfield and Sheffield for an exhilarating run aboard a Paxman Valenta power car. These have all been re-engined since though the iconic sounds of an original HST will always be associated with the Valenta. Here you can enjoy the sounds once more for over one and a half hours in stereo....

Nathan on a GEVO? A rare sight but true! While on my way to Midland Railway, we took a stop in Ft. Scott to see this coal train head south. Boy were we in for a surprise!

www.embsayboltonabbeyrailway.org.uk The Embsay & Bolton Abbey Steam Railway (E&BASR) is a heritage railway in North Yorkshire, England, (formed in 1968 and re-opened in 1979). It is part of the former Midland Railway branch from Skipton to Ilkley (which closed down in 1965 14 years earlier). The E&BASR currently runs from Embsay via Draughton and Holywell to Bolton Abbey station, a distance of 4 miles (6 km). It is a long-term objective to extend the line to Addingham and Skipton.
