The application implements the functionality of a label applicator system used in the packaging industry. The system requirements are: - 120 cycles/minute - handle packages of various heights - adjustable push force for label application The solution was implemented with the Technosoft iPOS4808-VX drive and a stepper motor. The stepper motor is controlled in closed loop using an incremental encoder mounted on the motor shaft. Control in closed loop with a Technosoft drive makes the stepper motor behave like a true servo-motor. The application, developed using Technosoft motion language, has 3 stages: 1. In the first stage the applicator moves quickly to the position from where the package is searched for. The position is provided by an external host via communication channel. 2.
