OC News is put together by broadcast journalism students at CSUF. Titan TV broadcasts the news on the Time Warner Cable channel 98 in certain cities in Orange County. Students are assigned different jobs in either the studio or control room to put on the show. I produced this special edition in which we explored the different media outlets CSUF uses. Enjoy!!

The Times-Picayune, one of the nation's oldest newspapers, will no longer offer print editions seven days a week and instead plans to offer three printed issues a week starting in the fall. The change means New Orleans would become the largest metro area in the nation without a daily newspaper in the digital age. The changes announced Thursday were combined with similar moves at three major Alabama daily newspapers also owned by the Newhouse family group's Advance Publications. The Birmingham News, the Press-Register in Mobile and The Huntsville Times will switch to publishing three days a week as part of a new focus on online news. At all four papers, there will be unspecified staff cuts. All four papers will continue to publish continuously on their websites, and online access will remain free. It is highly unfortunate how sensationalized the Media has become. Long-revered tenets of balanced, minimal-bias-as-possible//show-both-sides-equally journalism have gone by the wayside. Today, it's about the ability of a story to captivate; intrigue or at least inspire gossip for a few days. Stories about eating disorders and those who suffer with them are no exception. As senior journalism students at Roger Williams University in Bristol, RI, Mark Fusco and Ben Whitmore embarked on an independent study to investigate the future of journalism. In video two, we spoke with Bill Lucey, Publisher at The Sherman Publishing Company, located in Newport, RI Responsible for overseeing the production of The Newport Daily News and other local Rhode Island print publications and websites, Lucey described how his business has fared in light of the economic recession.
