It's been a defining year for "ukulele hero" (Rolling Stone) Jake Shimabukuro. Dwight & Trese Otani organized a trip to Japan, and arranged for custom made radiation monitors to be manufactured and donated for schools in the areas of Fukushima. Providing these monitors was made possible by generous donations from the Otani's and their friends in Hawaii. This video was put together by Hawaii musician, Byl Leonard, with photos taken by Trese Otani during the Japan trip. Music is by Jake Shimabukuro on ukulele, and the vocal of Jennifer Perri, from the movie "Hula Girls", a true story about how the daughters of coal miners saved their coal mining town in Fukushima, through Hula.
