Ali Nassirian in a rare interview with Homayoun Majd (May 1994) In 1993 and 1994, the great man of Iran's Theater and cinema, Ali Nassirian was in DC area. He decided to go back on stage after 14 years being away from theater. Of course, he had accepted parts in several movies and TV series in Iran but not theater, where he really belongs. He believed, if his movies were band or censored and modified or not shown at all, that is the director and the producer's problem. But when on stage as actor or directing a play, none of those "officials" were qualified to approve, deny, or tell him which part is allowed or not. Therefore, he decided to leave the stage altogether and satisfy his yearn, passion and love for the stage only by appearing in front of the camera. READ HERE: Orlando Magic superstar Dwight Howard says he had NOTHING to do with the team's decision to fire head coach Stan Van Gundy ... telling TMZ, "I hate to see anyone lose their job." Howard -- who's still rehabbing from back surgery in LA -- was out in Beverly Hills this morning when we asked how he felt about his coach's recent termination. "Me and Stan ... we had our ups and downs ... but for the most part we had one goal ... to win a championship in Orlando, but we fell short." When asked about speculation that he had a role in the decision to can Stan, Howard told us, "I'm glad [Orlando Magic CEO Alex Martins] confirmed I had nothing to do with it." Howard is also concerned about an interview scheduled to air on ESPN tomorrow night -- telling us it was shot back in April ... and insists the content is "old and inaccurate." The Gregory Brothers are a US musical group that characterise their music as "Country & Soul, Folk & Roll". Members include Michael Gregory on drums and vocals, Andrew Rose Gregory on guitar and vocals, Evan Gregory on keys and vocals, and Sarah Fullen Gregory (Evan's wife) on bass and vocals. They are most famous for their creation of musical viral videos, most notably the Auto-Tune the News series, which includes the "Bed Intruder Song". The three brothers, originally from Radford, Virginia, moved to Brooklyn, New York in the mid-2000s and met Sarah in the local music scene. The four formed a band in 2007. The Times-Picayune, one of the nation's oldest newspapers, will no longer offer print editions seven days a week and instead plans to offer three printed issues a week starting in the fall. The change means New Orleans would become the largest metro area in the nation without a daily newspaper in the digital age. The changes announced Thursday were combined with similar moves at three major Alabama daily newspapers also owned by the Newhouse family group's Advance Publications. The Birmingham News, the Press-Register in Mobile and The Huntsville Times will switch to publishing three days a week as part of a new focus on online news. At all four papers, there will be unspecified staff cuts. All four papers will continue to publish continuously on their websites, and online access will remain free.
