Day of Slavic Written Language and Culture marked in Moscow. Russia and all Slavic countries mark the Day of Slavic Written Language and Culture on Thursday. The holiday is inseparably linked to the honoring of Saints Kirill (Cyril) and Methodius - the authors of the Slavic alphabet. More than 3000 believers took part in a mass act of worship of the Iberian Icon of the Mother of God held on Vasilyevsky Square, near the Kremlin. The icon was taken out of Novodevichy Convent for a procession of the cross in central Moscow, for the first time to mark this holiday. Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill conducted a service and then led the procession, which culminated in a mass prayer near the city's central Red Square. Hundreds of events have been scheduled in Moscow as part of the celebration, including an international festival of Slavic music, and conferences and workshops to bring together representatives from Ukraine, Belarus, Serbia, Bulgaria and other Slavic countries. -...

This video highlights the Overfalls Trail in Gros Morne National Park in Newfoundland, Canada. Mark Flagler captured artists hiking this new trail in August 2011. Flagler Films produced, filmed and edited this video for Gros Morne National Park to be showcased during the Arts & Adventure Festival in Gros Morne from 8th-10th of June 2012. Gros Morne National Park, Ocean Quest and the International Appalachian Trail - Newfoundland & Labrador are presenting this festival to the public. The 3-day event will include hooked rug and fine art exhibits and workshops at the park's Discovery Center in Woody Point, zodiac adventures on Trout River Pond, and guided hikes of nearby Overfalls Trail.
