Through mostly trial and error the PID gains sustain controllable flight although it is difficult to pilot and there are issues with its automatic stabilisation.

Drifting Competition with onboard cams and aerial view from above

I was at the Chilliwack Radio Control Drift competition couple weeks ago and got a lot of great clips. A couple cars I put the HK 720p wingtip cam on the roof, took a bunch of great clips, some in 60fps with the new Sony HD Handycam, and also got a bunch of great footage with the Hero2 from onboard the hexcopter. The hex looked great from the onboard cam on the cars, as it just barely flew over top of them. Get a nice view of the cars from the onboard cam as well, as they go around the corners and continue to be facing the car they're chasing. I did have more problems with the Hero2 where a few times the image freezes. Apparently there is a codec on the GoPro Hero page that I need to download to hopefully cure that problem. I'll try it before the next vid using the Hero2. Thanks for watching, I have more footage from the Hex to show as well, at a crawling competition in Port Moody, the same weekend. Kamikaze Spring Float fly

This is our 2nd Float Fly we've been able to have up at the camp and another great turnout of planes and even my heli. Start with some views from the hexcopter, first of Larry's Supercub in the water and then getting rescued. Next I needed something with floats, so used some supercub floats and my old beat up Extra 300. It actually flew not bad , CD had done the same thing, but they area handful for sure. Love the landing. Next Jason had out his Eagle trainer, on his home made floats. They worked great. Don't know if he got some video from onboard that Eagle too or not. After that my Trex 500 doing some inverted hovering over the water. I was really not able to get it to settle down, must've been nerves LOL Then the main event, an old scratch built cub with floats. This plane has been hanging in Racetech Hobbies for years, including the engine. Norm told us to get it going and fly it. So Jason did a ton of work to it, SuperDave and others helped getting it going and this was the day...
