I created this title sequence based on some of the effects discussed in the VideoCopilot tutorial 97 - Lighning Strike. It's an entirely original sequence that I came up with. It's created in After Effects CS5, the sound effects are from findsounds.com and the font is from dafont.com

I was going for a reinterpretation of the BlackBox TV title sequence, which ended up a bit less scary and more childrens cartoon. That's why I entitled it "animatic" to indicate that it's not finished yet.

This is this years 3D animation project for university. The final piece will be a 15-30 second animation. This is a preview render.

For my honours degree I am creating a reinterpretation of the Once Upon a Time TV show title, which is a very short logo reveal. On the basis of my research I have established a number of criteria (which are detailed in my dissertation) for this type of genre. I am proposing that these design conventions differ depending on the country and medium of distribution. Which is why I have created three different versions of the title sequence for the three distribution formats I have picked as the most prominent: United Kingdom, United States and Online. This is the Online style title sequence. I have animated this sequence to the original Once Upon a Time main theme, which is copyrighted material and I am therefore unable to publish the animation with the original soundtrack. I have used a replacement audio for this upload, which is why the animation doesn't always hit the beats 100%. All my Once Titles have the same soundtrack in their original state, unlike these replacement audio...

I have added some light effects for the flickering light to enhance that flickering, I have edited the sound (or had it edited by my sound designer Matt West) and created a very simple animation of the kind of title logo I would have liked to create if I could spend more time on it.

This is the first fully animated scene of my animation. Cupid is walking to the edge of the tray and puts his foot on the ledge in an explorer-like pose, thrusting his fist in the air with adventurous ambition about leaving the tray to explore the wide world of blanketland. There are still some tweaks here and there that I need to make.

So I've created a short showreel (test) with the projects I would like to include in my future, polished showreel. I used the ink drop and the logo indent media tests that I have created previously. The music is a creative commons licensed song.
