PRIMER REGISTRO Y CARACTERIZACIÓN DEL GÉNERO DE BRÚQUIDO Caryedon SCHOENHERR 1823, Y DE LA ESPECIE Caryedon serratus (OLIVIER) (COLEOPTERA: BRUCHIDAE) PARA EL ESTADO DE HIDALGO, MÉXICO RESUMEN. Mundialmente conocidos como escarabajos de las semillas, los brúquidos comúnmente están asociados con cultivos y granos almacenados y algunas especies atacan productos de interés humano como el tamarindo y otras leguminosas. En este trabajo se realiza la caracterización y nuevo reporte del género Caryedon y la especie Caryedon serratus (OLIVIER) para el estado de Hidalgo en semillas de Tamarindus indica L., incrementando el número de géneros de brúquidos a 17 para esta entidad. Con este registro Hidalgo ocupa el 4to lugar en el país en riqueza de géneros de brúquidos junto con Veracruz, frente a estados como Jalisco y Tabasco con 14, y sólo superado por Oaxaca con 20 y Chiapas y Morelos...

George Noory talks with Richard C Hoagland, Coast to Coast AM, 04-02-2012... Richard C. Hoagland presented his contention that the success of the new movie John Carter [of Mars] is being deliberately sabotaged by a "cabal" that is against the public learning the truth about Mars' ancient civilization and technology. Based on a 1912 Edgar Rice Burroughs novel, the movie's depiction of Barsoom (Mars) correlates with NASA's data on the actual ancient ruins of Mars, he said, adding that Burroughs placed the capitol city in the same geographic location as Cydonia. Hoagland, who is planning a new book to be titled The Heritage of Mars: Remembering Forever, believes that Mars' civilization suffered from a huge cosmic war that brought about its end.
