Based out of Squamish, the Wilderness Leadership Program takes students on an empowering adventure that enforces confidence, self-exploration and hard skills. Students also learn to interpret the life around them and gain an understanding of how the earth, they love to explore, came to be the way it is. This program consistently provides the outdoor industry with competent leaders who are always seeking improvement and looking towards the future. The clips in this video were filmed on the fly over the last 10 months by a variety of cameras and people. This video is meant to give the viewer a brief glimpse of some of the more exciting goings on of WLP. Filmed by almost everyone in 2011-2012 WLP and AWLP. From Sophie Koh's new album 'Oh My Garden' due July 2012 Written by Sophie Koh, Ben Lee, Brad Wood From the Directors @ APIARY: " When we first heard 'I Understand', we felt really strongly the sense of vulnerability hidden by stoicism in the lyrics and vocals of the song - something that we can all relate to - and we wanted to make a video that expressed this visually. The idea was to do away with the various veils of costume, location and action to concentrate all the attention on Sophie and her song, using the simple device of gravity to evoke the emotional journey of this character singing the song. Rather than having Sophie act it out, we subjected her to the effects of gravity - strapping her to a purpose-built gimbal (rotating machine) together with our camera, and letting the blood rush to her face as she turned upside-down. She was very brave. What at first seemed a simple concept (!) quickly revealed itsself to be a major excercise in mathematics - and human fortitude....
