Southwest Airlines (NYSE:LUV) known for its cheap domestic flights, is now going international. The airline plans to start making international flights for the first time with its move to start offering former AirTran's routes to Mexico and the Caribbean. The company is looking to add as many as 25 flights a day. This would require the opening of a new terminal at Houston's William P. Hobby Airport which will cost between $100- $125 million. Starting international flights for the first time was most likely a reason why Southwest decided to buy AirTran last year for $1 billion. The opening of the new terminal will bring roughly 1.5 million more passengers annually to the Houston airport as well as create 10000 jobs and bring in about $1.6 billion a year. Southwest stock climbing on the news. Shares are currently 2.5% higher at $8.57.

After graduating magna cum laude from Georgetown's School of Foreign Service in 2003, O'Reilly spent three years at Advocates for Children of New York as an education advocate for detained and incarcerated youth with learning disabilities. In 2006, she was selected as a Luce Scholar and spent the next two years in the Philippines and Hong Kong working with local NGOs to advocate for fair working conditions for migrant domestic workers. She returned from Asia to start law school in 2008 and simultaneously served as a member of the Immigration and Legal Services Clinic and the Workers Rights Advocacy Clinic. She graduated from Yale Law School in 2011 and is currently working as a judicial clerk for Judge Barrington D. Parker on the United States Courts of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Next year, she will be working for Judge John Gleeson in the US District Court in Brooklyn.

According to the Congressional Budget Office (CBO), the US will be short USD 1.1 trillion in its 2012 budget, ending September 30. The CBO has revised its 973-billion dollar estimate for fiscal 2012. The budget analysis predicts the country's spending to remain unchanged, while expecting revenues to grow by 9.6 percent. Over the past two fiscal years, the US posted a 1.3 trillion dollar deficit after posting a record 1.4 trillion dollar deficit in fiscal 2009. Under the current policies, the CBO predicts the national debt to jump to USD 15.3 trillion over the next ten years. The country's official unemployment rate is also expected to rise in 2013. Meanwhile, the nation's gross domestic forecast (GDP) has also been revised down to two percent. Since the 2008 economic crisis, the US budget deficit has topped the one-trillion-dollar mark.
