On the boardwalk at Wakodahatchee, I came across this Anhinga perched on the rail, drying it's wings. It must have been too wet still to fly, and dry enough to not want to get wet again, just to avoid me. So instead of either flying away or diving back into the water it decided to walk down the rail away from me. Now Anhingas are very good at flying, and they swim like a fish, but they walk like a duck after a few beers. So the Anhinga waddles along the rail, keeping it's wings spread to hasten their drying, while keeping me, the approaching human with the camera, at a certain distance. There were a couple of times that, if you watch closely, you can see the Anhinga almost fall. It reaches a corner and navigates around it but then hesitates to go further. I proceed forward, keeping my back to the opposite rail, until I have passed it and am now shooting from another angle. As soon as I start forward, now going in the other direction, the Anhinga starts it's drunken walk back the way...

Big Tub Lighthouse in Tobermory, ON part of the Bruce Coast Lighthouse Tour: www.brucecoastlighthouses.com Originally constructed in 1885 for a cost of $675, the Big Tub Lighthouse played an important role guiding ships into the harbour from the sometimes-treacherous waters of Lake Huron and Georgian Bay. The original structure was later replaced by the six-sided, 14 metre (43 foot) wooden lighthouse that is seen today. An automated red light acts as a guide for boaters. Watch for scuba divers just off the point, as this location is a very popular diving destination. One of the more accessible lighthouse sites, it is located virtually at the mainland terminus of Highway 6. In 1985, the lighthouse became more accessible to the walking public and to those wheelchair-bound when a pathway and a viewing area were cleared.
