Between neuralyzers and monocycles, the Men in Black get to play with some of the coolest toys around. And the next installment of the sci-fi series, Men in Black 3, will feature an all-new toy for Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones: the Ford Taurus. As director Barry Sonnenfeld explains, the Taurus makes perfect sense: "We originally decided on a Ford sedan for the first Men in Black because it seemed like the car equivalent of the black suit. A style that never gets old, but still feels unique and super cool." The time-traveling story line of MIB3 also gives classic Ford vehicles some screen time. "In 1969 our heroes drive Ford Galaxies that look like flying saucers, and in the present, it's the Taurus Limited," says Sonnenfeld. "The cars are characters, and the Ford vehicles are perfect casting." Men in Black 3 opens Friday, May 25.

This week has been largely overcast and dreary, and while most cars were hidden away in garages, the drivers on the New England 1000, one of the cruises sponsored by Vintage Rallies ( vintagerallies.com ), had their cars out and driving. The convertible Ferraris, vintage Aston Martins, Mercedes Gullwings, and the rest of the 45 entrants were participating in a Time/Speed/Distance rally, driving some 1000-odd miles across Vermont, Massachusetts, New York, and New Hampshire raising money for charity and enjoying their very rare and very exotic vehicles. When they stopped in Manchester, VT, I was lucky enough to be able to film some of them. Music in this piece is "Taxicab Sunsets," by Blue Suede Through (used with permission). I thought you'd like a look at this 1965 Plymouth Belvedere drag car. This is an original 426 Wedge/4-Spd car with history from the Chrysler Historical Society and owner history back to the original owner. The car was a drag car it's whole life and wasn't even driven since 1975. Currenlty, this Belvedere has a 440 CID engine and A-727 Automatic transmission from a 1968 Plymouth GTX. Mopar rear end with 4.11 Suregrip gears. Only 200 miles and 12 drap strip trips have been put on this engine and transmission since restored and put in the Belvedere. The car has been restored with new paint inside and out. Trunk has been carpeted. Front disc brakes and line lock. Cheetah internals to trans 2800 stall converter. Manual valve body. Grey vinyl interior. This is a factory radio delete car. Radial tires. This is a collector muscle car with a great history. Thanks for taking a look!
