This song was originally written by Madeleine Gallay and Eliana Ellenberger as a clarinet and bassoon duet. I revised a good portion of the song and added a first clarinet part on top of it.

Muczynski - 6 Preludes, No. 4
Tags: Muczynski Preludes No. Emch Jacob Emch Jake Emch
Robert Muczynski wrote these preludes shortly before his debut at Carnegie Hall in New York in his late 20's. His recital consisted of only his works for piano. Muczynski studied piano with Walter Knupfer and composition with Alexander Tcherepnin at DePaul University in Chicago. A few years later, Muczynski joined the faculty at DePaul University teaching composition. Muczynski is most famous for his Sonata for Flute and Piano (Op. 14), his Sonata for Alto Saxophone and Piano, and his Time Pieces for Clarinet and Piano. These Six Preludes (1954) offer a great variety of style within 20th Century music.
Balkan Trumpet Improvisation - Miron Rafajlovic

My intention is to make the trumpet sound closer to the timbre of a clarinet (in this case turkish/bulgarian style). Trumpet is known for its brilliant and somewhat harsh sound that cuts over anything, I am trying to get away from that and really try to make it sound more like a human voice mixed with violin "crying like" phrasing. I am using a 1948 Olds Super model with a late 1930's HEIM mouthpiece. This equipment really helps get that very smokey dark airy sound.
