Egyptians stand in line to cast their ballots in the country's post revolution presidential elections, hailing what they believe to be an unprecedented democratic process. Voter turnout has been high. Orderly queues were formed outside 13000 polling stations across the country. The two major political parties have been a political institution in United States democracy, but many are hoping to crack the system. One of those people is Carey Campbell, a chairperson of the Green party. He says there aren't Republican or Democratic parties. He says there are only "corporate parties", with a common interest of war. Campbell is reacting to what he says is a mindset of war. But with conflicts winding down in Iraq and Afghanistan many believe that Iran could be a potential target. Hindraf to field Uthayakumar for GE13 (Malaysiakini) The Hindu Rights Action Force (Hindraf) today named its de factoleader P Uthayakumar as its candidate for the next general election. When contacted, Uthayakumar said he will contest in two seats, namely the parliamentary seat of Kota Raja and the state seat of Sri Andalas in Selangor, which are currently both held by Pakatan Rakyat. "If I win, I will be the first Hindraf candidate in Parliament and the Selangor state assembly, we are going on a platform of equal opportunity, upward mobility and the elimination of racism by the state and private sector," he said.
