Artist : Yakine Title : Rise EP Track : Disaster Drop ( Original Mix ) Label : Spectral Sound Style : Deep House Rising Parisian producer Yakine's career pretty much defines the word "eclectic"in his teens, he was a bona fide metalhead, playing guitar in a metal band that toured all over Europe, before his love of hip hop steered him in the direction of the dancefloor. He really found his home behind the decks, however, and once he discovered the world of electronic music via the patronage of his brotherwho introduced him to the sounds of underground deep house and technoYakine quickly moved into production. He's since released a series of EPs on European labels like Esperanza and Jetaime Records. The Rise EP is his first release for Spectral Sound, a four-track slab of understated, atmospheric techno. The title track features a guest vocal from Canadian DJ/producer James Teej, who intones a series of faintly sinister demands"Are you going to rise to the occasion? Are you going to...

Sundown ~ Gordon Lightfoot ~ Carl Holsher

Loved this song for many years and still do . His is my version of this Great song. "Sundown" is one of the most popular songs by Canadian folk artist Gordon Lightfoot. Released in March 1974, "Sundown" allowed Lightfoot to regain the momentum that his career had taken three years earlier with "If You Could Read My Mind" and other songs. It reached number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 and easy listening charts , and number thirteen on the Hot Country singles chart. There are rumours that "Sundown" was inspired by his then girlfriend, Cathy Smith, later more infamously known for her involvement in the death of John Belushi. Lightfoot has commented in interviews that she was "the one woman in my life who most hurt me."

I picked this track up from the very first Ronnie Hawkins Roulette album from '59 entitled 'RONNIE HAWKINS'. In fact, I've recorded quite a few songs from both his first Roulette albums (the 2nd one called *MR. DYNAMO') and was a BIG fan of his (still is!) ever since I first spotted his raucious version of Chuck Berry's "Thirty Days", which he had re-entitled "Forty Days". I recorded a couple of different versions of "Odessa" way back in the early '70s, but erased everyone except this one which I re-edited in the early '80s using my Country Gent for the lead parts. Hope you enjoy... TRIVIA: Ronald "Ronnie" Hawkins was born January 10, 1935 in Huntsville, Arkansas, just two days after the birth of Elvis Presley. Also known as Rompin' Ronnie, Mr. Dynamo or simply The Hawk and cousin to the late rockabilly artist Dale Hawkins (of "Suzie Q" fame). At the age of nine, his family moved to nearby Fayetteville, Arkansas. After graduating from high school, he studied physical education at...

Topics will include the unique stylistic approaches chosen by the two filmmaking duos as they explore the artists' histories, and highlight the social and historic issues that shape both their personal lives and their creative work. Also of focus, the challenges and opportunities of working with living artist Beverly McIver of Raising Renee and recovering information on the life of long deceased Canadian painter Tom Thomson, as well as the strategies of cinema verité and dramatic reconstruction. Mobb Deep - Shook Ones Pt. II (1995) Link to the Official Old School Hip Hop page on facebook: www.facebook.com Shook Ones (Part II)" is the lead single from Mobb Deep's 1995 album The Infamous. The song was hailed as an instant classic and, in many ways, was the pinnacle of Mobb Deep's critical acclaim, making it their signature song to this day. In 2010 Pitchfork Media included the song at number 25 on their Top 200 Tracks of the 90s. The song is a sequel to the group's 1994 promotional single "Shook Ones", with similar lyrics, but less profanity. The original song is featured on the b-side of some releases of "Shook Ones part II" and was also included on the international version of the group's album Hell on Earth. The song is told from the perspective of inner-city youths engaged in territorial warfare and struggling for financial gains. WOW! What a real roper! :) William MacLeod, a living rodeo legend smiles at himself for the second time when William is lassoing his dummy calf from his horse "Sierra", but in this video clip, rodeo star and western artist William MacLeod is nearly almost smiling for the second time, as this clip was videotaped on Monday, May 14th, 2012, as this is another one of my favorite clips forever and ever to relive again. For the second time ever, William MacLeod practices swinging and throwing his loop to catch that dummy calf off of his horse "Sierra" and also dismounts super fast by lifting my left foot out of the stirrup and then my right foot was sliding out of the stirrup and then my both feet would be out of the stirrups as I had both feet flying up high in the air at dismounting down from the saddle of Sierra. After my both feet would hit the ground for Sierra to keep the rope tight, I run down to flank and tie up the dummy's legs. For this outcome to relive again forever and ever,...
