PRESENTED BY KEVIN Emma Jane has been performing live since December 2005. The Glasgow born singer, has performed around Scotland, doing both acoustic and band sets, impressing the likes of John McLaughlin (the Scottish songwriter who has written for various acts such as Westlife, Busted and Shane McGowan) who said she was "one to watch" and Billy Sloan (Radio Clyde DJ & Sunday Mail writer) who said she was a "great singer" with "great songs" and the "best talent he had heard in a long, long time." Emma Jane's unique blend of country, soul and blues along with her distinctive vocals, has won her many acoustic competitions around Scotland and has earned her a dedicated fanbase in her home country of Scotland. This recording comes from my own collection of 78 rpm and was digitized with a small modern turntable. I hope you're appreciate ! The TUNE WRANGLERS wasn't the first string band (fiddle band) to record but their music was heard in San Antonio and most of central Texas. In the 1930s they appeared on daily shows on KTSA, WOAI, and KFJZ. The group was together for 6 years and had over 20 different musicians moved through the group. The leader was Edwin "Buster" Coward. It is believed he recruited three other musicians to form the Tune Wranglers. They were Tom Dickey (Fiddle), Charlie Gregg (Bass), and Eddie Fielding (Banjo). In 1936 Joe "Red Brown" Barnes joined the band. He recorded and performed with them, off an on until 1938. His specialty was jazz and blues. Accounts of the band indicated he provided a lot of the humor as well as a lot of the vocals. His banjo playing was probably the most influential of all the banjo players that appeared in the group. After leaving for awhile...
