This is an overview of some of the complexities of the Supermicro MCP-220-00034-0N 2.5-to-3.5 drive tray/adapter. This video is directly related to a DSLR/BBR forum post from another Supermicro customer asking how to get a 2.5" SSD to work in their chassis given that the chassis uses a hot-swap backplane. That forum post: www.dslreports.com In my situation, I "modified" the MCP-220-00034-0N to work in a Supermicro SC733T-645B chassis (which includes a Supermicro CSE-SATA-733 hot-swap SATA backplane). I apologise in advance for my ramblings -- this video should have been 3-4 minutes long but I wanted to go over all the complexities, since the first time I got my hands on this thing I wasn't sure how to get it to work properly in my model of chassis.
